Press Release: Innovative System Brings eBooks to Bricks & Mortar Retail
New Ebook Retail System unveiled at Canadian Booksellers Association ConferenceToronto, Ontario, May 14th, 2011 – Until today, eBook was a taboo word to independent bookstores. Now, a new sales method for eBooks, announced at the Canadian Booksellers Association National Conference, has opened up sales channels for independent booksellers and the huge mass-retail market.
With hundreds of retailers already interested and eager to participate, Enthrill Distribution, the company behind the game-changing offering, will be conducting a market evaluation of the system in the coming months. Numerous retail outlets and bookstores will participate, with titles from both US and Canadian publishers.
Enthrill co-founder, Kevin Franco says, “Enthrill’s eBook sales program is a natural fit for booksellers. It utilizes the merchandising skills and knowledge the traditional bricks & mortar booksellers already have. The content is the same, we’ve simply given them a package they can sell.”
After researching various distribution models currently in place for both digital and print books, Enthrill found that bricks and mortar locations were equipped to sell eBooks, they just needed the digital asset in a tangible form.
“When we brought our idea to the Canadian Booksellers Association, they were excited that their members could finally take part in eBook sales,” says Franco. “Now anyone, not just device holders, can purchase an eBook. Finally, eBooks can be given as gifts.”
The market for eBooks just grew substantially – and retailers are now part of it.
